Thai news in Pattaya is currently centered around a crackdown on operating times for many venues. There is a sign on the beach side of Beach Road around Soi 7 and 8, that says in Thai and English, “Change Pattaya.” I have noticed a definite change in the feel, the pulse, and passion’s fire here in Pattaya. All three are still here, but the intensity of these elements of Pattaya has noticeably diminished.
There are now many bars near Beach Road very close to that sign that are empty. When I watch the local Thai news I’m hearing words and seeing images that focus on a crackdown on sexual activity at the bars and Gentlemen’s Clubs in Pattaya. A mandate has been put in place where all the bars on Soi 6 cannot open until 6pm, and the nightlife on walking street must now end at 3am. I’m not in any way about to express an opinion on how those that run Pattaya should do it, because that is not my business, but if I owned a bar on Soi 6 and you cut my operating hours in half I would hope my tax liabilities were cut in half as well as my rent, since every other bar in Pattaya can open from morning to 3 am.
What I will say is, “DOES THAT MEAN I AM GOING TO STOP HAVING FUN WITH THE BEAUTIFUL WOMEN THAT STILL WANT TO ENJOY THEMSELVES WITH ME IN PATTAYA? ABSOLUTELY NOT!!!”
Whenever I hear someone talking about change, I always think of the words from the late great Bruce Lee,
“…….Be formless, shapeless, like water. Now you put water into a cup, it becomes the cup, you put water into a bottle, it becomes the bottle, you put (it) in a teapot, it becomes the teapot, now water can flow or it can crash, be water my friend.”
Let’s flow like water on this one. If they don’t want bars in certain areas don’t protest or complain just let yourself flow with the new ways you meet people that want to have a good time with you. They didn’t just disappear, the game has just changed form, like a different vessel you pour water in. If internet dating is the new way, flow with it. If taking names and numbers at the massage parlor is the new way, flow with it. If you have to be more friendly when you’re out of your room flow with it.
Don’t be stubborn and say ‘I’m not happy unless I’m on Soi 6 meeting girls at the bar,’ I’m sorry you will have to flow with this, change is upon us. We all have to adapt to new ways of mixing and mingling. because the girls are still here. We have to change. There are clear messages in the Thai news that changes are being put in place.
Some words of wisdom were given to me that I would like to share with you, ‘focus on the ones that give you the right kind of attention.’ Say those words over again in your mind, ‘focus on the ones that give you the right kind of attention.’ There have been so many nights when I have had a beautiful bird in hand, let that one loose to go after a bird in the bush that may have been a little better looking, to find out in the end, all that glitters isn’t gold.
When you meet a girl that turns you on and gives you the right kind of attention, keep that one close to you. While Pattaya is going through this transformation I suggest you stay with the women that give you the right kind of attention. When you meet them establish a way to communicate through the various apps on your phone and you will be alright.
